Belt and Road Summit - HKPEFA Supporting Organisation
11-09-2017
We were honoured to have welcomed Mr Zhang Dejiang, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, and more than 40 prominent international speakers at the inaugural Belt and Road Summit.  Over 2,400 business leaders and key government officials from 48 countries and regions, along with some 270 Hong Kong, overseas and mainland journalists, gathered to discuss their vision of the Belt and Road Initiative and the unique role that Hong Kong could play.  The concurrent exhibition and business-matching workshops further reinforced the Summit as an ideal platform for participants from around the world to develop partnerships.

Mr Zhang’s presence and his speech reiterated the important role that Hong Kong plays in the Belt and Road Initiative.  To further pursue the immense opportunities brought by this important Initiative, and riding on the success of its debut, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will again jointly organise the second edition of the Belt and Road Summit on 11 September in Hong Kong.  Under the theme of “From Vision to Action”, the Summit this year will feature insights of senior officials of related economies and case studies highlighting Hong Kong’s role in helping companies to unlock the massive Belt-Road opportunities.
